Max Frisinger
Max Frisinger (b. 1980) is a contemporary artist who resorts to found objects as the groundwork for his complex, juxtaposed sculptures. By reinventing what those objects ultimately represented in a previous life, he creates site-specific installations with such raw materials as old cast iron radiators, table legs, and plastic tubes. Frisinger was born in Bremen, Germany, and currently lives and works between Berlin and Lisbon. He graduated from the HfBK, in Hamburg (2006-2010) and took a teaching position at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf (2014-2016). Frisinger has recently moved from Berlin to Penedo, a small village in Sintra, Portugal. Chris Kraus invited him to take over OUTPOST – Casa das Arribas to curate a collective art show focused on exploring and becoming embedded into the space — which was designed by the renowned Portuguese architect Raul Lino.
